Warranty & Guarantee
We stand behind our work. Here's what's covered.
Our Workmanship Guarantee
If something we installed has a defect — grid that's out of level, a tile that wasn't seated right, a seam that opens up — call us and we'll fix it. No charge. That's our standard workmanship guarantee on every project.
We guarantee that our installation work meets the manufacturer's installation specifications and applicable building codes. If it doesn't, we make it right.
What's Covered
- Grid alignment, leveling, and structural integrity
- Tile fit, seating, and cut quality
- Seismic bracing installation
- Wall angle attachment
- Baffle and cloud hanging hardware
- FRP panel adhesion and trim work
- Wall panel mounting and alignment
What's Not Covered
- Damage caused by other trades working above the ceiling after we're done (this happens a lot — electricians and plumbers popping tiles and not putting them back right)
- Water damage from roof leaks, pipe breaks, or HVAC condensation
- Normal wear and tear
- Damage from building movement or settlement
- Modifications made by others after installation
Manufacturer Warranties
The products we install carry their own manufacturer warranties. We pass these through to you. Here's what the major manufacturers typically cover:
- Armstrong — 30-year limited warranty on most ceiling tiles and grid. Covers manufacturing defects, excessive sag (for HumiGuard+ products), and color consistency.
- USG — 30-year limited warranty on ceiling tiles. Covers defects in material and manufacturing.
- CertainTeed — Limited warranty varies by product line. Covers manufacturing defects.
- 9Wood — Limited warranty on wood ceiling and wall products. Covers manufacturing defects in materials and finish.
- Rulon — Limited warranty on wood systems. Covers manufacturing defects.
- Marlite — Limited warranty on FRP panels. Covers manufacturing defects.
Manufacturer warranty terms and conditions vary by product. We provide the specific warranty documentation for the products installed on your project.
How to File a Claim
If you have an issue with work we performed:
- Call or email us — nick@eliteacousticsinc.com. Describe the problem and send photos if you can.
- We'll assess it — If it's clearly a workmanship issue, we'll schedule a time to come fix it. If it might be a product defect, we'll inspect and help you file a manufacturer warranty claim.
- We fix it — For workmanship issues, we come out and make the repair. For product defects, we coordinate with the manufacturer on replacement material and handle the reinstallation.
We keep records of every project — what products were installed, batch numbers, and installation dates. If you need replacement tiles years down the road, we can look up exactly what's in your building and get matching material.
Maintenance Tips
To keep your ceiling system in good shape and avoid warranty issues:
- Fix roof leaks and plumbing issues promptly — water is the number one killer of ceiling tiles
- Make sure HVAC is running before and during tile installation (and keep it running)
- When other trades access the plenum, make sure they reseat tiles properly afterward
- Clean tiles with a dry cloth or vacuum. Don't use wet methods on mineral fiber tiles
- Replace damaged tiles promptly — one stained tile makes the whole ceiling look bad
