Real Wood. Commercial Grade.

Nothing else looks like a wood ceiling. It adds warmth and character in a way that metal and mineral fiber just can't. We install wood grille ceilings, wood plank ceilings, and custom linear systems from 9Wood, Rulon International, and Armstrong WoodWorks — three manufacturers that build serious commercial-grade products.

What We Install

Wood Grille Ceilings

Open-cell grille systems with evenly spaced wood members. Light shows through the gaps, and you can paint the plenum above dark for contrast. With acoustic blankets above the grille, these systems absorb sound while looking great. Available from all three manufacturers in a range of species, spacings, and profiles.

Wood Plank Ceilings

Tongue-and-groove or clip-attached planks in 2" to 8" widths. Creates a continuous wood surface — straight runs, diagonal, herringbone, or custom patterns. Solid or perforated for acoustic performance.

Linear Wood Systems

Modern linear profiles with consistent or mixed widths. Clean, directional look. Can include integrated lighting and acoustic backing. A lot of architects are specifying these for corridors, lobbies, and open offices.

Wood Panels

Larger format panels (2'×2', 2'×4', or custom) for standard or specialty grids. Flat, curved, or perforated. Fastest wood ceiling option for big areas.

Manufacturers

  • 9Wood (Springfield, OR): The industry leader for custom wood ceilings. Huge range of standard and custom options — grille, linear, tile, and specialty. FSC-certified. Their engineering team works with you from design through shop drawings.
  • Rulon International: Premium wood ceilings. Known for quality craftsmanship, especially on complex curves and custom profiles. Made in the USA.
  • Armstrong WoodWorks: Part of Armstrong's commercial division. Solid linear, grille, and panel systems with acoustic options built in. Backed by Armstrong's national supply chain.

Species

White oak, red oak, walnut, maple, cherry, ash, Douglas fir, cedar, teak, bamboo, and reclaimed wood. Natural clear coat, custom stain, paint, wire-brush, or charred (shou sugi ban) finishes. FSC-certified options for LEED projects.

Acoustic Performance

Solid wood reflects sound. But perforated wood panels with acoustic backing hit NRC 0.60-0.85+. Open grille with absorptive blankets above works well too. We help you figure out the right balance between how it looks and how it sounds for your specific space.
