Armstrong Ceiling Solutions
The biggest name in commercial ceilings. We've been installing their products for years.
About Armstrong
Armstrong World Industries has been making ceiling products since 1860. They split their commercial ceiling division into a separate company — Armstrong Ceiling & Wall Solutions — and it's the largest commercial ceiling manufacturer on the planet. Their Lancaster, Pennsylvania headquarters runs the operation, with manufacturing plants across the US.
In the commercial ceiling world, Armstrong sets the standard. When an architect specs "acoustical ceiling tile," there's a good chance it's an Armstrong product. Their catalog covers every ceiling type we install — acoustical tiles, metal panels, wood systems, baffles, clouds, and specialty products.
Armstrong Products We Install
Acoustical Ceiling Tiles
Armstrong's bread and butter. We install their full tile line:
- Cortega / Fine Fissured — The workhorse commercial tiles. Budget-friendly, decent NRC (0.55), and they look clean. We put these in standard offices, retail, and light commercial all the time.
- Ultima — Premium fiberglass tile. NRC 0.70, smooth face, great for conference rooms and spaces that need better acoustic performance.
- Total Acoustics — The dual-performance line. High NRC and high CAC in one tile. Designed for spaces that need both sound absorption and sound blocking (think medical offices, law firms).
- Calla — Smooth, monolithic look. Popular with architects who want a cleaner aesthetic than the standard fissured face.
- Health Zone / Clean Room — Tiles engineered for healthcare. Washable, antimicrobial, and meets infection control standards.
Prelude Grid System
Armstrong's Prelude is the grid system we hang most often. It comes in 15/16" and 9/16" face widths, standard and heavy-duty. The connectors are solid, the tolerances are tight, and it's available everywhere. Their XL grid handles heavier loads for metal panels and specialty installations.
MetalWorks
Armstrong's metal ceiling line. Lay-in panels, clip-in panels, linear strips, and custom metal. Powder-coated in any color. We install MetalWorks in auto dealerships, retail, lobbies, and anywhere metal makes sense.
WoodWorks
Armstrong's wood ceiling and wall products. Grille, plank, and panel systems. Not as customizable as 9Wood or Rulon, but more standardized and often lower cost for simpler applications.
Soundscape
Soundscape baffles and clouds — fiberglass-core acoustical elements for open ceilings. Blades, shapes, fins, and horizontal clouds. High NRC (up to 1.15), lightweight, and paintable in any color.
Why We Partner with Armstrong
Simple: they make good products, they're available when we need them, and they stand behind their work. Armstrong has reps in our market who help with specs, takeoffs, and problem-solving. When we need a product recommendation for a tricky acoustic situation, we can pick up the phone and get an answer.
Their distribution network means we rarely wait on materials. Most standard products ship from local distributors within a few days. That keeps our projects on schedule.
We're an authorized Armstrong installer, which means we've been vetted by Armstrong and have access to their training, technical support, and warranty programs.
